About the Speakers

Chris Kuchta has been with Connections Area Agency on Aging for 14 years and serves as a Community Engagement Specialist and Service Navigator. She has several other roles within the agency including being a SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program) counselor, a facilitator for Caregiver Stress Reduction, OATS (Older Adult Technology Series), and Dementia Friends classes/workshops, and all those “other duties as assigned.” Kuchta has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, Environmental Science, and Secondary Education from Doane College. She previously was a teacher in a number of Nebraska communities, and a professional Girl Scout in western Nebraska before her employment at Connections. She and her husband, Rodney, have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. She is active with her church in her spare time, plays guitar for its praise team, gardens, crochets, watercolor paints, and loves being with the grands.

Tasha Jones completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Human Services at Buena Vista University, Storm Lake, IA. Tasha has 15 years’ experience in social work employment working with individuals and families in various areas of service. Tasha is currently the Elder Rights Specialist at Connections Area Agency on Aging. The Elder Rights Program serves 20 counties in southwest Iowa who are currently or at risk of experiencing a form of abuse or neglect. She partners with other providers to build collaborated efforts to better serve the community and individuals. Outside of work, Tasha is a wife and mother of 2 adult children with first grandbaby coming in December. She is active in various ministries at her local church and looks for ways to share hope with others in everyday activities.
